Our story

A family farm rooted in the highlands.

Direct Farm (Bukit Tinggi) Sdn. Bhd. began in 2003 as a small highland plot with a simple belief: good vegetables come from good soil, patient hands and clean water. Today we still farm the same slopes — only with sharper tools and the same standards.

Every crate that leaves our packhouse can be traced back to the block, the bed and the day it was harvested. That is how we keep our promise to chefs, families and retailers across the country.

Integrated pest management, careful water stewardship and a focus on soil biology over shortcuts.

From soil to crate

How we farm — four careful steps.

Every box is the result of months of patience. Here is what happens between the seed and your kitchen.

01

Seed & soil

We choose varieties suited to our cool, misty climate, then plant into living, compost-rich beds.

02

Tend & protect

Hand weeding, integrated pest management and careful water — never a shortcut.

03

Harvest at dawn

Cut in the cool of morning and lowered to 4 °C within the hour at our highland packhouse.

04

Direct delivery

Cold-chain to KL, Selangor and Penang — most boxes leave the farm within 24 hours of cut.

Farming with care

Commitments we will not compromise.

Highland farming is fragile work. We treat the land as something we are borrowing — not consuming.

Cameron Highlands terraced fields
Soil first

Build soil, not deplete it.

Cover cropping, compost teas and crop rotation keep our beds biologically alive year after year.

Misty highland landscape with cloud cover
Water with respect

Drip-fed, never wasted.

Our irrigation runs on highland rainfall and recovered runoff — measured, not sprayed.

Honest labour

Fair work, fair pay.

Our team is paid above market and given housing, training and a stake in how the farm grows.

Who we serve

From hotel kitchens to home kitchens.

Our boxes reach four kinds of customers — and we adapt the cut, pack and delivery cadence for each.

Daily standing orders for KL, Genting and East Coast resorts — bespoke crate sheets, single point of contact.

Restaurants

From hawker stalls to fine dining — we work with chefs on rotational menus and one-off harvests.

Retailers

Branded crates and pre-packed punnets for grocers, premium supermarkets and farm-shop concepts.

Families

Weekly farm boxes delivered straight to your door across the Klang Valley — what is in season, this week.

Heritage

Two decades, one mission.

Founded in the highlands in 2003, we have grown thoughtfully — adding land, people and craft, never losing the standard.

2003

Founded as Idea Plus Sdn. Bhd. on a small highland plot in Pahang.

2010

First long-term supply partnerships with Klang Valley restaurants.

2018

Highland packhouse expansion — cold chain end-to-end.

2024

Renamed Direct Farm (Bukit Tinggi) Sdn. Bhd. as we widen our reach.

Good to know

Questions, asked often.

If you have a question we have not answered here, write to us — we read every email.

Where exactly are your farms?
Our main growing fields sit on the highland slopes of Bukit Tinggi, Pahang — roughly an hour out of Kuala Lumpur. The cool air and clean water are what make the produce taste the way it does.
Do you deliver to my area?
We currently deliver across the Klang Valley, Genting Highlands, Penang and selected East Coast resorts. For homes outside these areas we partner with cold-chain couriers — get in touch with your postcode and we will check.
Are your vegetables organic?
We use integrated pest management and have not used synthetic herbicides since 2019. Some lots are MyOrganic certified; others are grown to the same standards but not formally certified. Each crate is labelled clearly.
Can restaurants set up a daily standing order?
Yes — we work with hotels and restaurants on weekly menus and daily cut sheets. You will have one farm liaison and a single packing slip per delivery.
Do you offer farm visits?
We host small group visits during harvest months for trade partners and serious home cooks. Drop us a note and we will share the next available date.
How do I store the produce when it arrives?
Most leafy greens are happiest in the fridge crisper, loosely wrapped in a clean cloth. Roots keep best dry and in the dark. We include a one-pager with care notes in every weekly box.
